History

The Croft was built in 1840.

Formally known as Lumbholes the 1851 census lists the following families as residents:

            104 Lumbholes    The family of Sarah Greenwood   

            105 Lumbholes    The family of Joseph Riley

            106 Lumbholes    The family of John Kay

            107 Lumbholes    The family of Thomas Parkinson

            108 Lumbholes    The family of George Riley  

 

Immediately across the road from the property is the site of the former Lumb Holes woolen mill.
